Panic attacks are not nice for those suffering form them. The practitioner, your GP usually in the UK, will have at his disposal councilling/therapy as well as pharmaceutical treatments such as,beta blockers(if your not asthmatic), antidepressants, anxiolytics and may even utilise other complimentary treatments eg bach lower remedies. You may wish to look into methods of controlling panic attacks/anxiety developed by people who have suffered from this predicament. Talking to others who have the same problem can help.
